Botswana is a country with a multitude of wildlife, and watery deltas. Defined by the Kalahari Desert and the Okavango Delta which becomes a lush animal habitat in the floods, we can't think of a better way to observe the big five in this fantastic wilderness than on a dugout canoe safari. Following a river safari, we would recommend a stay in one of the luxurious lodges to explore Chobe National Park, home to the largest elephant population in Africa.

Known for the Big 5 which can be spotted in the Maasai Mara, Kenya encompasses huge swathes of stunningly wild savannah. From throngs of wildebeest thundering along the Great Rift Valley during the Great Migration to flocks of salmon-coloured flamingo on Lake Nakuru to a pride of lions playing with their cubs, Kenya truly offers a wonderful safari experience.

Named after The Namib, the world's oldest desert, Namibia is one of Southern Africa's greatest places to encounter wildlife and encompasses all the iconic African landscapes from ocean to deserts, mountains to otherworldly sand-dunes and wetlands and rivers to the grass plains of the Kalahari Desert.
Most wildlife can be found in the Central Highlands, home to Etosha National Park. Known for a salt-pan so large it can be seen from space, there is also abundant wildlife which congregates around the waterholes, making it a great place for game sightings.

The diverse parks and private game reserves found in South Africa offer some of the best game-spotting opportunities in the whole of Africa. A wonderful Safari destination for first-timers and safari veterans alike, South Africa is arguably one of the best destinations in the entire continent. The most well-known and oldest of the parks, Kruger National Park is home to the Big 5 and it's not uncommon to spot them all in one day! Sabi Sands is possibly the most famous private game park within the Kruger region, but there are many smaller ones where you'll still see just as much wildlife and far fewer people.
With so many national parks and game reserves to choose from in South Africa, the choices are endless. There are a variety of malaria-free parks in the country, making this a particularly attractive option for families with young children.

Tanzania, home to the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro also provides a wide variety of safaris from tented, tree or water safaris and is the perfect place to witness the great migration across the Mara river from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara. Explore the vast plains of the Rift Valley with Mount Kilimanjaro soaring magestically in the distance. Take a balloon trip for the best view of the wildebeest migration, then stay and explore the world's largest intact caldera, The Ngorongoro Crater, home to 25,000 species of wildlife. For the intrepid traveller, consider taking a guided trek to the top of Kilimanjaro and camp under the stars, falling asleep to the sounds of the wild African bush at night.

Zambia and Zimbabwe also offer some wonderful safari opportunities, and no trip to these beautiful countries would be complete without witnessing The Victoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world.
